Off Week: Wednesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs held a 90-minute workout in a steady downpour Wednesday in their lone practice this week.

After playing 11 straight weeks, Georgia (7-4) has an open date Saturday before finishing the regular season against 18th-ranked Georgia Tech on Saturday, Nov. 25 on CBS.

Despite Wednesday's rainy conditions, Georgia head coach Mark Richt said the Bulldogs had a productive day.

"Usually, everyone is praying for rain and today we wanted it to stop, and it never did but we still got after it," said Richt. "We were in full pads, had a live inside drill and some 11-on-11, and it was good."

After taking Monday off, Georgia lifted weights and had conditioning drills Tuesday. They will do the same Thursday before taking off Friday for the weekend. On Monday, they will install the game plan for the Yellow Jackets.

When asked about his plans for the weekend, Richt said he and his family are going to do a "whole lot of nothing."

"In the past, we've gone to the mountains or done something, but we're going to relax and may watch some games," said Richt. "If someone comes up with another idea, we'll do something else."

On the injury front, junior running back Kregg Lumpkin practiced Wednesday while junior running back Danny Ware remained in the training room for treatment. Richt said he is hopeful Ware and senior split end Mario Raley will be back for the Georgia Tech game. Raley missed the Auburn game.
