Ware expects to be ready for Tech

ATHENS – Junior running back Danny Ware never had much of a knee injury after all, he said Monday.

"Everything was really just in my ankle," he said. "The MCL (in his right knee) was just a little sore. The ankle is what swelled up so bad and now it's gone down, and I'm trying to back in the groove of things."

Ware was on crutches for two days after an Auburn defensive lineman rolled onto his leg during the Bulldogs' 37-15 win on Nov. 11 and the injury initially was reported as an ankle and knee sprain. He didn't go through any contact during Monday's full-pads practice but expects to be ready for Saturday's 3:30 p.m. game against Georgia Tech, he said.

"It's a whole lot better than it was," he said. "I don't know what percentage it is, but it'll be ready for Saturday."

Offensive lineman Michael Turner, who missed the Auburn game due to a high ankle sprain, was in a green, no contact jersey Monday, but he participated in some live drills and will play, he said. Starting running back Kregg Lumpkin (ankle) was in a regular jersey and not limited.

Wide receiver Mario Raley was in a green jersey and remains questionable.
