Action Jackson

Albert Jackson has played in just 4 games, but he has shown a lot of potential. In his first career game he grabbed 11 boards. In his second game he netted 10 points. On Tuesday's game vs South Carolina State he had 9 points and 7 rebounds. He was 4-for-5 from the floor and 1-for-5 from the line and added 3 blocks and a steal in a 105-60 win. After the game I talked to the freshman forward.

Dave McMahon -- How are you liking college ball?

Albert Jackson -- I am enjoying it so far. I love my team. I feel that we are getting better every game. It is dream for me.

DM -- Almost a double-double tonight...

AJ -- I know. A couple more free throws and a couple more defensive rebounds and I would have got it. Hopefully it can happen next game.

DM -- Was this your best game offensively AND defensively?

AJ -- Definitely. I pride myself on defense. I consider it an insult when my someone scores on me.

DM -- What can you do better?

AJ -- My overall basketball sense. I have been playing basketball for only 4 years. I need to better my offensive skills and be more patient. Maybe get a go-to move.

DM -- What about free throws?

AJ -- That too. Normally I am good. I usually go 10-for-10 in practice. I just got to keep my head steady more.

DM -- You talked about playing for just 4 years, what did you do before that?

AJ -- I played football... I was a defensive end.

DM -- Were you heavily recruited for football?

AJ -- Western Kentucky was looking at me, so was Louisville and some others.

DM -- Do you still talk to some of your former Oak Hill Academy teammates?

AJ -- A lot of them. I just talked to Tywon Lawson. He is at North Carolina. We talk about our experiences in college and who has the best stats. It is a good competition we have.

DM -- Tell me about Athens...

AJ -- The people are great. It is a great sports town. Everything is Georgia Bulldogs. You can't ask for a better atmosphere. This city is not too big and not too small. The students and fans all love you.

DM -- Thank you for your time and answers.
