About Georgia Tech: The Yellow Jackets won their first three games by an average of 36 points but have dropped two straight, to Temple and San Diego. … Tech is led by senior guard Stephanie Higgs (17.8 ppg) and junior forward Janie Mitchell (16 ppg, 8.2 rpg).

About Georgia: Preseason All-America forward Tasha Humphrey returned from suspension one half early against Memphis. She entered in the second half and played 17 minutes, scoring 11 points. … The Lady Bulldogs got another new addition in sophomore Maria Taylor, who was waiting for volleyball season to end to join the team. Taylor scored five points and had seven rebounds. … Senior guard Cori Chambers is now 21st on Georgia's all-time points list after scoring a team-high 18 against Memphis on Wednesday night.

Scouting report: This is just the second time in 15 years these two teams have played in Alexander Memorial Coliseum. After losing the first 24 games in this rivalry, the Yellow Jackets have bounced back to win two of the last four games. One of those wins came in Georgia's last trip the Thrillerdome, a 2004 game in which a top 10 UGA team lost 55-49 to Tech.
