Getting Rowdy

Two seasons ago Rebecca Rowsey started every game averaging 4.1 points and 5.0 rebounds a game. Last season was different. On the 2nd day of preseason practice Rebecca sufferred a torn ACL and she missed the whole season. Now she is back and playing quite well. Her scoring is up to a career-best 6.9 points per game and she is grabbing 4.5 boards a game. This week I talked to her about her game.

Dave McMahon -- How has the season been for you so far?

Rebecca Rowsey -- It has been a good season. I am proud the way this team has played especially when we had just 7 players.

DM -- The situation is better now...

RR -- It is so much better playing with 10 or close to 10.

DM -- What do you still need to work on?

RR -- My footwork. Definitely my footwork. I am still a little rusty.

DM -- In both seasons in which you played you made one 3-pointer in each season... when is this year's 3-pointer?

RR -- Don't know when it is coming.

DM -- You are from Tennessee, was everyone is your hometown a Volunteer fan?

RR -- Yes. I had to do a lot of explaining when I chose Georgia. But now my family are all die-hard Dawg fans.

DM -- Why did you choose Georgia?

RR -- It felt right. There was a lot of things I liked when I visited. The coaching staff was great. The atmosphere was great. Everything.

DM -- What's life for you after basketball?

RR -- Hopefully medical school. I just put in my applications.

DM -- Best TV shows about doctors?

RR -- ER, Grey's Anatomy and the real life doctor shows on The Discovery Channel.

DM -- Thank you for your time and answers.

The Lady Bulldogs next game is Friday at Savannah State. The next home game is on Sunday vs TCU.
