Johnson to announce NFL intentions Monday

ATHENS – Hawkinsville's Charles Johnson, a junior defensive end, plans to announce Monday if he's returning for his senior season or making an early jump into the NFL Draft, he said after Georgia's 31-24 Chick-fil-A Bowl win.

"I haven't made up my mind," he said.

Johnson plans to make his announcement after a Monday meeting with Coach Mark Richt, he said Saturday.

If the victory over Virginia Tech was his last game, it was a heck of a finish. Johnson had two sacks, three tackles-for-loss and forced a critical fourth-quarter fumble.

Junior cornerback Paul Oliver, who also is considering leaving early, declined to comment on his status after the game.

"It's all about the game," he said.

Junior running back Danny Ware also plans to announce his decision Monday, he said.
