Top 2008 GA RB Jackson Wide Open

ATHENS – Dontavius Jackson, a big-time running back out of Heard County High, talks recruiting and his upcoming senior season.

Quentin Grant: Who has offered you so far?

Dontavius Jackson: Kentucky and Georgia Tech.

Grant: Any other schools you are hearing from but haven't gotten an offer from yet?

Jackson: Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Alabama.

Grant: Have you grown up a Georgia or Georgia Tech fan by chance?

Jackson: It really doesn't matter to me, because I've grown up watching both of them.

Grant: Do you have a preference of conference or schools at this point?

Jackson: No, I don't really care where I play.

Grant: What type of season did you guys have last year?

Jackson: We had a great year. We were 10-0 for the first time in school history. So we had a great season.

Grant: What type of numbers did you put up this year?

Jackson: I rushed for 2,468 yards and had 29 touchdowns.

Grant: What are you looking for in a school as you begin to collect more and more offers?

Jackson: I am really looking at the atmosphere and the chance at early playing time. It doesn't really matter to me what type of school I go to. I'm just pretty much wide open right now.

Grant: With kids beginning to commit earlier and earlier do you see yourself committing early or waiting to make a commitment?

Jackson: I'm planning on waiting it out.
