It wasn't too long ago that a fast start in recruiting meant five commitments by the time summer camps rolled around. Now Georgia has five commitments before Signing Day for the Class of 2007.
Class of 2008
Coffee County's B.J. Brand became the latest commitment for Georgia as he
made his pledge today. Brand plays offensive tackle for the Trojans, but he's
likely to move inside and play guard for the Bulldogs.
I watched him for a full game against perennial power Lowndes, and these were
some of my thoughts.
He has good size and great natural strength. He plays hard on every down, and he
does a great job of finishing his blocks.
He'll need to work on his technique in that he catches his defender rather than
driving into him at times. He can get away with it on the high school level, but
he's letting the defender get into his chest. He'll also need to get quicker,
something that will come with time as he matures into that big frame of his.
