Some Things You Might Not Know

Quentin Moses and Charles Johnson has delighted Bulldog fans throughout the last few years. The defensive end duo wreacked havoc for all quarterbacks in the SEC. Quentin was a senior this past season and we knew he was gone, Charles is leaving after his junior season. In the day of internet, tv and radio we knew all of this information, but here are a few things that you might not know...

Here are Quentin Moses and Charles Johnson's career stats at Georgia...

Quentin Moses

137 total tackles
44 1/2 tackles for loss
25 sacks
90 quarterback pressures

Charles Johnson

73 tackles
27 1/2 tackles for loss
14 1/2 sacks
59 quarterback pressures

Their last game was in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

How has Georgia fared in seasons that they played in the Peach / Chick-Fil-A Bowl?

Not so good...

1974: 6-6
1990: 4-7
1996: 5-6
1999: 8-4

The Georgia Men's basketball team had 11 steals in a win against Vanderbilt. That was the 8th time in 15 games that the Dawgs have had 10 or more steals in a game. Two seasons ago, the Dawgs had 8 total double-digit steal efforts in 28 games.

Here are the current steal leaders in the SEC as of Sunday...

Sundiata Gaines (UGA): 2.6
Patrick Beverley (ARK): 2.2
Dane Bradshaw (TENN): 2.1
JaJuan Smith (TENN): 2.1
Levi Stukes (UGA): 2.1
Mike Mercer (UGA): 2.0
Corey Brewer (FLA) 2.0

OK, the Lady Bulldogs fell short to the Lady Vols on Sunday by the score of 52-41.

Georgia has a 14-37 record all-time vs Tennessee. The record may not look good, but the win total is impressive if you look at these totals.

Most career wins against Lady Vols

Louisiana Tech - 17
Maryville - 15
Georgia - 14
Connecticut - 13
Tennessee Tech - 12
Texas - 10

OK, all I know about Maryville is that they are a Division III team and they defeated Tennessee 13 times from 1903 through 1920. They might be my 2nd favorite team.

Georgia has never faced Tennessee in gymnastics nor have they faced Maryville.

But the Gym Dogs have dominated over all of the SEC teams. Here are their all-time records against SEC teams including Friday's win against Kentucky since 1980.

vs Florida: 76-27
vs Alabama: 67-40-2
vs Kentucky: 59-0
vs Auburn: 57-0
vs LSU: 48-13-2
vs Arkansas: 9-0
vs South Carolina: 1-0

Combined: 317-80-4... not bad.
