Over The Last Three

The spirts are at a high with the Georgia men's basketball team. After a four-game funk they have now won three straight against SEC foes. On Wednesday they won a buzzer beater shot by Steve Newman in Arkansas. That was the Hogs first home loss of the season. The team has been well balanced all season and here is a look at them over the last three.

Georgia has been averaging 77.3 points per game over this 3-game stretch which is 13 points more than their opponents. But it has been a mixture of many of their top players who have been responsible.

Mike Mercer has been the leading scorer over the last 3 games. No surprise since he has been leading the Dawgs in scoring all season. But in the last 3, he has been averaging 13.0 points per game. He has also 3.3 rebounds per game and has 2.0 steals per game.

Also playing some defense is Sundiata Gaines. Gaines has 2.7 steals per game in this stretch. But he has been averaging 10.0 points as well and he has been dishing it out at a pace of 6 assists a game. His three-point range has been great as well. He is 8-for-14 from beyond the arc over the last three.

Billy Humphrey has been also deadly from away down town... He is 6-for-14 from the 3-point land.

Right now the most popular 3-point shooter is Steve Newman. The red-head has been red-hot... going 5-for-7 from 3-point land. He also has been shooting 53.8 percent from floor in all.

Good shooting has been Takais Brown's middle name as of late. He has a 57.7 field goal pct over the last 3. He has been also been averaging 11.7 points per game and 1.7 blocks per game.

Mr. Block Shot over the last 3 has been Rashaad Singleton. He has been averaging 2.3 blocks per game over the last 3. He has also scored 14 points over the last 3, which is a lot better than the 11 he has in the previous 5.

Five is the number Dave Bliss has been close to averaging lately. He has at 4.7 points per game and 4.7 rebounds a game over the last 3.

Three is the number for Mr. Woodbury. Terrance is getting 3.7 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game.

But leadership is still one of the most important things and Levi Stukes has provided it. The senior has also done his thing on the court as well. Over the last 3, he has 12.3 points per game, 2.3 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game.

As you see, the wins are courtesy of the whole team. They need to continue this way in order to keep their conference winning ways. Up next is Alabama on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa.
