Countdown to #1 in GA - #8 Richard Cook

BorderWars has counted down the most comprehensive Georgia Talent list on the internet, and now it's time to look at the bluest of blue chip prospects. We check in at #8 with Richard Cook of Washington.

Richard Cook (6-4/270/4.65, Washington Wilkes HS -Washington) weighs in at #9 on the BorderWars Top 10 in Georgia list. He is also a BorderWars 101 Team member and 4 star prospect by

On the field, Cook has the most to prove out of anyone in the top 20, however, it's his pure physical ability that makes him a top "prospect". At 6-4 and 270 pounds, Cook won the State Title in the 4X100 and the shot put. Only one other person has matched that feat in the state of Georgia. A player by the name of Herschel Walker. While saying anyone has that kind of potential is a reach, but Cook moves better than nearly every player in the nation that can match his size. College recruiters will rush to Washington-Wilkes in hopes of getting a signature from Cook. He currently plays defensive end, but with his size and quickness, he is a sure bet to play the tackle position in college.

Cook had a good season on defense last year with 65 tackles and 6 sacks, but he has yet to harness that cast potential. For a player of his ability he doesn't make all of the plays that he should. If he can get his production to match his potential, we're talking about a #1 player in the south. His physical ability alone is enough to land him in the top 10 at #8.
