Since We Last Met
Like I said Georgia is 3-2 in their last 5, but should have held on against Alabama, but all-in-all a lot of individuals have looked very well.
Probably the most impressive player has been 2-time team MVP Sundiata Gaines. In his last 5 games, he has been averaging 15.6 points per game and shooting 46 percent. From beyond the arc, he has been even hotter hitting half of his shots (13-26). He has done the little thing, too. Sundiata has also been averaging 5.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.0 steals in this stretch.
Another player looking good lately is Takais Brown. Brown needs to do better since he struggled last time against Vanderbilt getting just 6 points and 1 rebound. Since then the big guy has been bringing home 16.4 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game. He has also been shooting at a 59.3 percent clip in the last 5.
If Takais needs to improve against Vandy, Billy Humphrey needs to get back to the way he played against them. Earlier Billy had 17 points on 4-for-8 3-pt field goals. Since then only 5.2 points per game and averaging just 4.8 shots per game as well.
The other Georgia player which starred against Vandy earlier this season was Levi Stukes. The senior guard had a team-high 23 points. But over the last 5, just 10.2 points per game. Then again what he did against LSU was something special.
One player looking to catch his rhythm again is Mike Mercer. Mike was leading the team in scoring all season under just recently. He has been getting just 9.4 points per game in the last 5, while shooting 35.2 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from 3-pt range.
Vanderbilt is 4-1 in the last 5 and has impressive wins vs Alabama and at Kentucky and at LSU. Their only was to Florida while they the Gators by 11 at the half.
Their half been 4 players that have been real hot since meeting Georgia and all have done a little bit of everything.
Senior Derrick Byars started getting hot right before the Georgia game but has been getting 19.2 points per game in the last 5 and also 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
Shan Foster who missed a potential game-winner attempt against Georgia last season in Nashville continues to be a very solid player. Over the last 5 his numbers are 16.4 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, 4.0 assists per game, 1.0 blocks per game and 1.0 steals per game.
Don't forget Ross Neltner and Alex Gordon. Ross brings 9.0 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game. While Alex brings 8.2 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game over the last 5.
If Georgia can figure out their wacky court then it should be a very close game.
