Some Things You Might Not Know

Georgia had a very good signing class this Wednesday. It may not been big on star power, but it was big on size. The Bulldogs signed 8 offensive linemen in this class. If you combine the weights of the 8 players, you will get 2,415 pounds. Coach Richt joked about if you looking for beef, here it is. So if you want beef that is 9,660 quarter pounders. Here are more things you might not know.

The basketball team looked real good on Saturday vs South Carolina, but of course the big news is the loss of Mike Mercer. Mike has been hot and cold this season, but he is one of Georgia's leaders on the court and on the statsheet as we see here...

Mike Mercer - Season Stats (Georgia ranks)

Games - 23 (T-1st)
Minutes - 674 (1st)
Field Goals - 128 (1st)
3-pf Field Goals - 23 (4th)
Free Throws - 34 (4th)
Rebounds - 101 (3rd)
Assists - 75 (2nd)
Steals - 39 (3rd)
Blocks - 5 (T-8th)

The big knock is his Field Goal Pct which is not very good at (40.8), but 8 times this season he has shot 50 percent or better.

This season it seems like Dennis Felton's group has owned South Carolina. Here are the top 5 biggest margins of victory in SEC games for Georgia under Coach Felton.

2007 vs South Carolina (24 points)
2004 vs Arkansas (21 points)
2007 at South Carolina (19 points)
2004 vs Florida (14 points)
2004 vs Ole Miss (13 points)

Andy Landers has done it again. Earlier this week he broke the 20-win barrier for the 23rd time in 28 seasons at Georgia that he has accomplished this feat... but what about the other 5 seasons. Some of those seasons, he was pretty close.

1979-80: 16-12
1991-92: 19-11
1993-94: 17-11
1997-98: 17-11
2001-02: 19-11

The Lady Bulldogs played 6 seasons before Coach Landers came to Georgia... Combined in those 6 seasons, Georgia won 37 games, or just over 6 per season.

Courtney Kupets on Saturday vs Alabama received a perfect 10 on her bars routine. It was the 140th perfect 10 in the school's history.

62 on those 10's appeared on the vault
49 on the floor
24 on the bars
5 on the beam
