About Georgia: Head coach Andy Landers is hoping Lady Bulldog fans will help make the short drive from Athens to Duluth to help counteract the travel-happy Tennessee fans. "The pressure is on the Georgia folks," Landers said. "There could be an arena 45 miles from Athens with too many orange shirts in it if they don't show up." … This is just the second time the Lady Bulldogs have been the second seed in the conference tournament. … Georgia is 38-23 all-time in SEC tourney games. In six of the last eight years, the Lady Bulldogs have advanced to at least the semifinals. … One more victory will give Georgia its 16th 25-win season under Landers.
Scouting report: In the regular season meeting between these two teams, the Lady Bulldogs won 82-72 in overtime in Lexington, Ky. Georgia has won 11 of the last 12 meetings overall, so this should be nothing more than a tune-up for an anticipated meeting with third-seeded Vanderbilt on Saturday. "This is what you build for, this time of year," Landers said. "You started working last spring, through the summer and working in earnest come fall to get to this point. At least at Georgia, it's what you build for. The regular season is preparation for this. It's the most exciting time. I think the second-most exciting time is the first day of practice, but the most exciting time is when you start the postseason."
