2007 Spring Practice: Day 5 Practice Report

ATHENS The University of Georgia football team held its fifth session of spring practice Monday night at the Woodruff Practice Fields. The team drilled for two hours in shells with light contact.

³We had a pretty good practice tonight,² said head coach Mark Richt. ³I thought that we competed hard throughout practice. A.J. Bryant made a great catch to end our 11-on-11 work tonight.²

Monday¹s practice was the first since March 9 as classes resumed from spring break.

Richt mentioned that he did not expect any changes in the depth chart since the last practice. Further, Richt said that sophomore Vince Vance injured his knee and probably will not practice this week.

Richt also addressed the progress of the redshirt freshmen as a group.

³As a group, they have really done a great job,² said Richt. ³We obviously redshirted more defensive guys last year. Having said that, Josh and ChrisDavis have done a good job. Knowshon (Moreno), Tony Wilson, and NaDerris (Ward) have also impressed me.²

Georgia gets back on the practice field Wed., March 21.
