2007 Spring Practice: Day 7 Practice Report

ATHENS - Georgia worked out for nearly two hours on Friday at the Woodruff practice fields, preparing for a full scrimmage on Saturday morning.

Saturday is also a junior recruiting day where the Bulldog program will entertain 40 prospects on campus.

³(Friday¹s practice) wasn¹t awful, but it could have been canceled due to lack of interest,² said head coach Mark Richt. ³Hopefully that¹s the calmbefore the storm at the scrimmage tomorrow. We really got after it on Wednesday and they know we¹ve got a full day tomorrow, so I was not real pleased with the energy.²

Richt said that scrimmages like the one the team will hold on Saturday is the best way for the coaching staff to evaluate the players.

The scrimmage will feature three full drives of first team offense against the first team defense. Kicking teams will start the scrimmage and the day will end with goal line action. There will also be multiple drives featuring second and third teams.

³We¹ll see if we can sustain something offensively or if the defense will shut them down. It¹s also good for the coaches to be in game situations,² Richt said.
