Duggan heads to Athens for visit

North Gwinnett offensive lineman Clint Duggan gave up two sacks his sophomore year, one his junior year and is hoping to see that number drop again next year as a senior. He is starting to make the rounds, visiting SEC schools having traveled to Alabama a couple weeks ago and will be in Athens Saturday although the city, campus and stadium will be nothing new for him.

He grew up following the Bulldogs and his family already has season tickets. Then next week his travels continue with a trip to Vanderbilt.

Matthew Borenstein: How have things been going for you?

Clinton Duggan: They've been good. I am visiting Georgia tomorrow and Vanderbilt next week.

MB: How have you been hearing from the most?

CD: Alabama a lot. Also Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech.

MB: It's been calls and letters?

CD: Yeah, calls and a couple letters. I visited Alabama a couple weeks ago.

MB: What are you looking for in a school?

CD: A good, hardworking program that can win. Also a good overall school with good academics.

MB: Have you heard anything from Georgia?

CD: I have not heard much from them. I am going to Georgia's junior day tomorrow. One guy contacted my coach and wanted me to come.

MB: Do you have a list of top three or top five schools?

CD: I really like Vanderbilt, and also Georgia Tech and Georgia.

MB: Do you have any offers?

CD: No.

MB: What in particular do you like about Georgia?

CD: I have always been a longtime Georgia fan. My family has season tickets and I am there all the time. It'd be a dream come true to play there. I'm definitely going to check it out tomorrow and see it.

MB: Would you like to play with North Gwinnett defensive lineman Eric Eberhardt (who is also visiting Georgia Saturday)?

CD: He is my best friend. I block him in practice everyday. It'd be really cool to go somewhere together. It'd be a dream too. But we'll see what happens.

MB: So what are you hoping to do on the field next year?

CD: My sophomore year I allowed two sacks and I allowed one last year. I am looking to give up zero next year and to be a dominate force and make the defense change its plans and put another guy on my side.
