Strong commits to Vanderbilt

GRAYSON – Grayson's Triston Strong has been high on Vanderbilt for some time – he committed to the Commodores today.

"I've visited up there a lot and it was great," Strong gushed. "I committed to Vandy tonight and I am really exited about it."

Vanderbilt beat out Auburn for Strong. Both schools offered the Grayson linebacker earlier this year.

"Nashville and the atmosphere up there and on campus is awesome," Strong continued. "The coaching staff is what gets me excited about Vandy. They made me feel so at home. They are a great coaching staff – especially Coach Bealin."

With recruiting behind him, Strong can now focus on helping Grayson in the fall. The decision was what Strong and his parents wanted.

"My parents love the decision – they wanted me at Vandy the entire time," Strong said. "They graduate a large about of the kids that go to school at Vandy, and that really sold me on what Vandy was all about. Coach Johnson talked with my parents about everything."

The Commodores have long been able to dip into the Atlanta talent base to grab a recruit or two, and Strong's commitment continues that practice.

"Coach Johnson said he really wanted me there," Strong added. "And that's where I wanted to be, too."
