Chandler & Barnes arrested

Two more Georgia players have been arrested on alcohol charges according to the Athens-Clarke County Jail Report.

Blake Barnes and Tripp Chandler were both arrested last night by the Athens-Clarke County Police.

Barnes, who is the third string quarterback, was arrested for open container (a misdemeanor) and furnishing alcohol to minors (a misdemeanor). He was released at 8:00 AM this morning on a $2,000.00 bond furnished by Confidential Bonding.

Chandler, who is currently listed as the starting tight end, was also arrested for open container (a misdemeanor), but was charged with underage possession of alcohol (a misdemeanor). Chandler was released at 8:26 AM on a $1,000.00 bond furnished by Confidential Bonding.

The arrests come on the heels of more problems with alcohol at Georgia. Former linebacker Akeem Hebron was dismissed from Georgia after being arrested twice in the same semester on charges of underage possession of alcohol. Hebron signed an informal agreement with the University admitting that he had broken the school's code of conduct.

Also last semester, true freshman Tanner Strickland was charged with possession of a fraudulent I.D., a misdemeanor.

Barnes and Chandler have not been arrested during their time in Athens, however, punishment handed out in the past by head coach Mark Richt has usually included a one, or two-game suspension for arrests.
