Dawgs ink five-year deal with XM

ATHENS - XM Satellite Radio is now the official satellite radio home of the University of Georgia Athletic Association under a five-year sports broadcasting and marketing agreement starting in 2007.

XM plans to air every regular-season Georgia football game, the vast majority of Georgia men's and women's basketball games, and select games for other Georgia athletic teams.

Georgia's fans can tune into the games on XM radios for the car, home, office, and portable use. XM is broadcast nationwide, so Bulldog fans can listen to their favorite team, even if they are thousands of miles away from Georgia. While all football games will be carried on XM, a minimum of eight games will feature the Georgia broadcast crew of Larry Munson, Scott Howard, and Loran Smith.

The traditional Georgia Radio Network, including flagship station News/Talk 750 WSB, will still carry all Bulldog football and basketball games.

XM is now the sole satellite radio network for the University of Georgia Athletic Association under an agreement with the Southeastern Conference (SEC). In addition to Georgia, XM will carry games for Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee starting in 2007, with more SEC teams to join XM in the future.

XM will also provide complete coverage of the SEC football and basketball championships, plus other SEC sporting events.

XM will have a group of channels dedicated to the SEC, making it easy for fans to find games and special SEC programs.
