2007 Media Days: Legge's Look at Auburn

BIRMINGHAM – Here's a look at the day Auburn Head Coach Tommy Tuberville and the Tigers had at the SEC's annual Media Day event. Auburn finished second in the SEC West and went to the Cotton Bowl last season.

Last season: 11-2
Last game vs. Georgia: 37-15 loss
Series Record: Auburn leads 53-49-8

Most memorable Georgia win: 2002 – David Greene to Michael Johnson on fourth down. The game propels Georgia to its first SEC title in 20 seasons.
Most painful Georgia loss: 1983 – Georgia loses to Auburn as the Tigers snap Georgia's run of three SEC titles.
Starters returning: 12

Best player: Quentin Groves
Biggest Weakness: Not many. The Tigers will be in a fight with LSU, as usual, for the SEC West title.
2007's big question: Is Auburn getting ready to be third fiddle behind LSU and Nick Saban's Alabama?

Inside the numbers vs. Georgia (as seen in the 2007 Dawg Post Season Preview):
That's how many 100-yard rushers Auburn has had since Georgia last had one in the series - Orlandis Gary's 130-yard game in 1998. Rudy Johnson's 152 yards in 2000, Carnell Williams' 167 yards in 2001, 124 yards in 2002 and 101 yards in 2004, as well as Irons' 179 last year prove that the Tigers have had better talent at running back over the last half decade.

SEC Media Day's quote to note:

"Spurrier wore you guys out… he'll wear anybody out." – Head Coach Tommy Tuberville on the South Carolina head coach.

"Television is here. They do a great job they pay a lot of the bills. They are going to get all of their commercials that they want. If we are out there for three hours – we are out there." – Tuberville on TV in college football.

"I think it was a little extreme just totally shutting it down." Tuberville on text messaging.
