"He's still firm to Duke," Boykin said of his Fayette County teammate and friend.
Boykin committed to the Bulldogs in the spring, and it looked like Daniels may come along for the ride, but he's stuck with his commitment to Duke.
"Matt is spending the weekend with me and really just came up because I was coming up," Boykin explained.
Boykin is considered a four-star prospect by Scout.com, and plays quarterback and cornerback for the Tigers. He is one of two committed corners for the Dawgs right now and paid close attention to what that position was doing today.
Boykin said he was watching during the drills to try to pick up on some things he should be working on in the fall.
"I just watched as hard as I could to try to get some things down," he said. "I have been trying to pick up a back pedal drill."
Boykin said today that he will have to wait until after his high school graduation to join the Bulldogs. He wanted to try to enroll early, but that "just didn't work out."
