ATHENS - Josh Kendall's news and notes from Georgia's fall practices.

MEMORIES: The announcement that former Georgia quarterback Eric Zeier is being added to the Bulldogs' broadcast booth brought back an unpleasant memory for Richt.

Florida State thought it was going to recruit Zeier out of Marietta High School, Richt said.

"He was enrolled in school (at Georgia) before we ever found out we lost him," Richt said. "I thought we were in the lead and the next day I saw that he was in school. I said, ‘I don't think we're going to get him now.'"

ONE MORE THING: Wide receiver A.J. Bryant, a former Peach County star, missed three days of practice last week with what he thought was a concussion.

Instead, head athletic trainer Ron Courson told him, it was a combination of heat sickness and a sinus problem.

"It just hit me, I would get real dizzy spells," Bryant said. "It was crazy man."

The dizzy spells have passed, and Bryant returned to the field Monday. But missing any time is frustrating for the senior who sees the end of his career fast approaching.

"I can step back in and be right in step, but I hate to miss any days," he said.

THIS AND THAT: Georgia's Sept. 22 game at Alabama, Oct. 6 game at Tennessee, Oct. 27 gameagainst Florida in Jacksonville and Nov. 10 game against Auburn at home are expected to be broadcast by CBS in the 3:30 p.m. spotlight. … True freshman quarterback Logan Gray will simulate dual threat Oklahoma State quarterback Bobby Reid in this evening's practice game. In previous year, the Bulldogs often used a defensive back to simulate an athletic quarterback, but Gray's athleticism will allow him to do that. … Offensive lineman Scott Haverkamp (ankle) and running back Caleb King (hamstring) will be held out of the practice game. … True freshman receiver Walter Hill missed practice due to an old ankle injury.
