Dawgs figure out WRs

ATHENS — Georgia wide receivers coach John Eason is pretty sure what the seven-man rotation will be like next Saturday when the Bulldogs open the season against Oklahoma State.

At the "Z" spot: Sean Bailey and Kenny Harris. At the "Y" inside receiver slot: Mohamed Massaquoi and Kris Durham.

And at the flanker position: Mikey Henderson, Tommy Wilson, and Michael Moore.

"It was based on grades," Eason explained Friday. "Some of them eliminated themselves a dropped pass, and basically that eliminates you.

"Some guys, the ones I did not name, basically threw themselves out of the mix at this point." Missing from the list? Senior A.J. Bryant from Peach County.

Bryant is behind after missing three days last week with a sinus infection.

"He's been injured, and he's not been able to perform," said Eason of the still-tentative opening rotation. "Right now, he's kind of on the borderline. We'll see how he goes the next couple days in terms of playing time."

Bryant, still almost befuddled by what happened last last week at practice when what he thought was simple dizziness from a hard hit was a sinus problem, remains confident.

"Coach Eason said not to worry about the depth chart," Bryant said Friday. "I'll still be in there. Nah, I'll work my way back up.

"I've felt all right. Just keep pushing, man. That's been my story since I got here."
