"Coach T, he's Mr. Motivation," Richt said. "He'll be like, ‘Coach, you have to go berserk on them.' I'll say, ‘Well, I didn't go berserk on them at halftime of the Virginia Tech game (in last year's Chick-fil-A Bowl) and we did OK.' Like I tell Joe, I've got to be who I am. They can smell if you're genuine or not in your emotion."
Georgia's players hear rants from the assistant coaches plenty, Richt said, and he added he has no qualms doing it himself if he thinks it's what's needed.
"They've seen me hot, but sometimes the best thing you can do is make sure you have a good plan," Richt said.
