Gameday to spotlight Tide-Dawgs

ATHENS – Georgia will get a little extra exposure out of Saturday night's nationally televised game.

ESPN's College GameDay will film Saturday's show from Tuscaloosa, Ala., where the No. 22 Bulldogs take on No. 16 Alabama at 7:45 p.m.

"It's certainly an honor for us to have GameDay come to the University of Alabama," Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said. "It's special exposure for us. We certainly want to have nothing but the greatest hospitality and respect for what they do. I think it goes without saying that our fans welcome them."

The last time a Georgia game was the site of GameDay's broadcast was 2005, when the crew of Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit broadcast from the Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville, Fla.

"It's the game of the week," said defensive tackle Jeff Owens. "It's just going to add more hype to the game."

The last time the GameDay crew came to Athens was 1998 for a game against Tennessee. The Bulldogs are 2-2 in their last four GameDay games (wins over South Carolina in 2004 and Alabama in 2002 and losses to Florida in 2005 and Tennessee in 1998).
