Ole Miss Week: Wednesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The No. 15-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (3-1, 1-1 SEC) continued preparations for their Southeastern Conference clash with Ole Miss (1-3, 0-2 SEC) by holding a two-hour workout Wednesday.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said the practice lacked some emotion and overall he was not pleased.

"It was not my favorite Wednesday practice," said Richt. "There was not a lot of fire, I didn't see a lot of energy. The guys are human, it's week five without a break and we pushed them pretty good. Some did okay but as a whole I was not pleased."

When talk turned to the amount of playing time for true freshman linebacker Rennie Curran and defensive back Vance Cuff, RIcht said they are making progress.

"They're close to getting more time, they have been practicing with the first and second units and preparing to play," said Richt. "When the coaches feel comfortable with where they're at, they'll play more."

Richt said he was pleased with how Georgia's kickoff coverage played against Alabama compared to earlier this season.

"We didn't change personnel, sometimes that's the worst thing you can do, we just worked on it, and the guys responded well and now we have to keep it up," Richt said.
