"I don't know where I'm going to play at Georgia," said Henderson. "They're recruiting me as an 'athlete' right now. When I called up there to talk to Coach Eason (WR's coach) he told me that I was playing offense. Then he handed the phone to Coach Martinez (DB's coach), and he told me not to listen to any of those offensive guys he wanted me to play corner," said Henderson with a laugh.
"I don't care where I play. I'll do whatever they need me to; I just want to play."
Whether Henderson ends up on offense or defense will not be decided any time in the near future, but he will still most likely see action on punt and kick returns with his outstanding quickness. "Yeah, they've asked me about returning kicks too. I like doing that as well. I've played wide receiver most of my career, but this is the first season that I've gotten to play corner. I really like defense now too. It's fun to line up and not know exactly what the offense is going to do and try to figure it out."
When the offer came from Georgia, it was an easy decision for Henderson to make. "Coach Bobo (QB/RB coach) is the one recruiting me, and when he asked me 'Do you want to be a Bulldog', I was ready right then. I mean growing up in Georgia, who wouldn't want to go to the University OF Georgia. Plus my favorite colors are red and black, and it's close to home for my parents to come watch."
Henderson had been drawing interest from some of the smaller schools in the country like Central Michigan, Louisville, and Alabama State, but he has big time speed, the attitude, and work ethic to become a solid contributor on the next level.
