Off Week: Tuesday News and Notes

ATHENS - Josh Kendall's news and notes from Georgia's fall practices.

GOOD TIMES, BAD TIMES: Things were looking up for place-kicker Brandon Coutu on Saturday night when he hit the game-winning field goal against Vanderbilt, but the good times didn't last long. When Georgia's team plane landed in Atlanta, he got a call from the friend saying his apartment had been robbed.

Several electronic devices were taken from Coutu's apartment.

"The game was obviously a huge high, but it was short-lived with all the festivities I had when I got home," he said. "At least nobody was hurt. It was definitely disappointing at a time like that, but it's something I have to deal with."

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Walk-on linebacker Chris Gaunder was accepted into Mercer's medical school this week and already has pre-enrolled, Richt announced Tuesday. Scholarship defensive end Jeremy Lomax and walk-ons Brad Arsenault and Christian Norton have been accepted to Georgia's prestigious Terry College of Business.
