New school enters mix for Commings

Sanders Commings says it's still all even for the schools pursuing him, but a new school has entered the mix.

"I am going to visit Clemson on January 11th," Sanders said today. The Tigers had not been in the picture until recently. Instead, the battle for the Augusta native was between three SEC schools: Georgia, South Carolina and Florida.

"Clemson called me three weeks ago," Commings said. "I didn't hear a lot from them before, but they told me they had the wrong number."

The senior also has an official visit set up for South Carolina the week the Gamecocks play their bitter in-state rivals: November 30th.

As for the other two teams on his list, Commings said he plans on visiting the Gators and Dawgs, too.

"I probably will visit Florida, but I am not sure when," he said. "I know that I will take an official visit Georgia for sure."

The Bulldogs are hosting their two big weekends on November 10th – the Auburn game – and December 8th – the night of the Senior Gala.

"Everything is pretty much the same. Coaches call me pretty much every week. We just talk about small stuff," Commings said. "I will probably take a couple a few more unofficial visits."

Commings has visited Georgia several times. The baseball star wants to play both sports in college, and that will enter into his college decision.

Commings, however, spent five weeks this fall hurt. Westside struggled without Commings, losing all but one game with the prospect was out.

As for college, Commings is looking for the place where he fits in most.

"I just want to take everything in on the visits. I talk with my parents about what I want to see. I want to get around the best people. That will make my decision. Wherever I fit in the most is where I will go," he said.
