Will King Play?

ATHENS – Georgia's coaches still are uncertain if freshman running back Caleb King will play this week or this season, head coach Mark Richt said.

"That's probably going to be a game time (decision)," Richt said Thursday.

The No. 20 Bulldogs had hoped to redshirt King, but injuries to seniors Thomas Brown and Kregg Lumpkin have left them very thin at tailback. Freshman Knowshon Moreno will start against No. 9 Florida on Saturday.

Lumpkin (knee) won't be back until the bowl game, and Brown (collarbone) won't return until at least the Nov. 10 game against Auburn.

"If I knew for a fact that Thomas was coming back for Auburn, it would be a lot easier to decide," Richt said.

Richt doesn't want to play King after holding him out the first seven games of the year, but he may not have a choice, he said.

"You dreadthinking about it, but if that guy came off a redshirt and played a lot for five or six games, you'd feel not so bad," he said.

King, who was rated the No. 4 high school back in the country last year by Scout.com, is ready to go if called upon, he said. "Of course, I would love to go in," he said.
