Georgia wins BorderWar for Top LB

Danny Verdun has committed to Georgia over Auburn this week giving the Dawgs a big victory off the field to couple with the big victory on the field over Tennessee.

Georgia has followed its big victory on the field with another big victory off of it. Thomson's Danny Verdun, has committed to Georgia over Auburn giving the Dawgs a big BorderWar victory over their neighbor to the West.

"It came down to Auburn and Georgia," said Thomson Head Coach Luther Welch. "I think he probably just wanted to stay in state which I encourage my guys to do. If they have the opportunity to play for the home state school, I think it's a benefit for them down the road when he gets done with school. It helps the kids that try and get jobs and such when they come home."

Verdun is an underrated linebacker prospect that is rated a 3 star prospect by and #38 linebacker in the country. He has excellent footwork and lateral movement that is a by product of his soccer background. The position he plays in soccer is aptly named "Stopper", fitting, because that's what he is on the football field as well.
