Bailey gets the best of Mack

ATHENS – Sean Bailey was uncertain if he would play Saturday, but he's certainly glad he did.

Bailey, a senior wide receiver from Alpharetta, led No. 10 Georgia with five catches for 57 yards and won what became a very heated one-on-one matchup with Troy cornerback Elbert Mack.

Bailey was called for a personal foul after catching a 20-yard touchdown pass late in the first half and flipping the ball back at Mack.

"I didn't say anything. I just flipped the ball," Bailey said. "He was talking a lot of … stuff on the field. We were battling. I may have let my emotions get to me a little bit, (but) when they're talking you want to shut them up and I think I shut him up."

Bailey suffered partially torn meniscus cartilage in his left knee last week against Florida, but he is trying to put off surgery so he can finish his senior season.

My knee "felt good out there," he said. "I think it was important to get that first catch just to get the jitters out. After that, it felt fine."
