Auburn Week: Wednesday Practice Report

ATHENS - Senior tailback Thomas Brown continues to make progress towards returning to action for the No. 10-ranked Georgia Bulldogs as they held a two-hour workout Wednesday.

"I think he's (Brown) fine, he did well at practice today and had some limited contact," said Georgia coach Mark Richt. "It would be good to have a veteran in the backfield."

Brown has been out with a collarbone injury since the second half of the Tennessee game on Oct. 6. At the time of his injury, he was leading the Bulldogs with 830 all-purpose yards. Currently, Brown ranks sixth in school history with 2,280 career rushing yards.

Also, Richt added that senior safety Kelin Johnson went through Wednesday's workout and was looking ready to return to action. Johnson has been out with a knee injury since the second half of the Florida game on Oct. 27. He has started 21 games in his career.

Richt did not indicate whether Brown or Johnson would return to their starting roles, saying that decision would be made later this week after he talks to their position coaches.
