Uzzi visits Georgia

ATHENS - Omoregie Uzzi talks about his visit to Georgia.

There were only a handful of uncommitted senior prospects visiting Athens for Georgia's game with Auburn. Uzzi, a Chamblee star, has been highly sought after by the Dawgs for some time.

"I liked it," Uzzi said of his visit. "The black jerseys was cool I liked it. It was a very good atmosphere."

Uzzi said he got to Sanford Stadium in time to watch the pre-game festivities.

"I got there at 2:30 and got down to the stadium to watch the players do their thing before the game," he said.

When comparing the atmosphere at Georgia to other places, Uzzi said it was "about the same."

"It was louder than Tech, but it was about the same as Alabama and Clemson."

And while Uzzi may be sought after by the Dawgs, he's not yet ready to pull the trigger.

"I really liked it at Georgia, Uzzi said. "I didn't commit, but I really did like it."

As far as that decision is concerned, Uzzi doesn't have a time table for a commitment, he said.

"I was thinking about that earlier, I just think that whenever I feel like it I am going to do it. I want to make sure," he said. "I hear from each from each of the schools a lot – about once a week."

Which schools? Georgia's in-state rival Georgia Tech, Alabama and Clemson are all schools he is being recruited by. He's also visited all of them.

But Saturday was all about the Dawgs. Uzzi was impressed by Georgia's black jerseys, the blackout and all things Dawg.

"I was a Georgia fan at the game," he said.
