Kentucky Week: Tuesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs went through a two-and-a-half-hour practice in unseasonably warm temperatures at the Woodruff Practice Fields on Tuesday afternoon.

The No. 8 Bulldogs (8-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) host No. 22 Kentucky (7-3, 3-3) at Sanford Stadium at 12:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday and head coach Mark Richt is hoping the fans are just as excited as they were duringGeorgia¹s 45-20 win over Auburn and that they will participate in the early Dawg Walk.

³I want to start out by saying that our Dawg Walk will begin at 10:45 a.m. this week,² said Richt. ³I know that sounds early, but I think we saw last Saturday what happens when everyone gets together and does it right. The Dawg Walk was phenomenal and the students were up in the stands ready to go during pre-game warmups. I don¹t think that has happened in my seven years here.²

Richt said that the Wildcats¹ Osenior-laden team¹ will be another obstacle for Georgia¹s defense during the Bulldogs¹ third straight game at home. Georgia held Auburn¹s offense scoreless in the fourth quarter and finished with a season-high four interceptions.

³Of course, they are the only team to beat No. 1 LSU, they went toe-to-toe and whipped them,² Richt said. ³They were behind 13 points with about three minutes in the third quarter of the LSU game, then they tied it and won in overtime. They have had an outstanding season and they are an outstanding team.²

Richt also announced that all of his team¹s 23 seniors would be captains during the Bulldogs¹ 11th game of the season.
