Humphrey arrested

ATHENS – Georgia guard Billy Humphrey, a junior from Dacula, was arrested Tuesday evening on a felony charge of weapons possession on school property.

The charge came after a souvenir knife was found in Humphrey's dorm room at the East Campus Village, where most of the Bulldogs' athletes live. Humphrey, 20, remained in jail as of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Georgia basketball coach Dennis Felton is aware of the situation but no disciplinary action has been announced, Georgia sports information representative Tim Hix said.

Humphrey started the Bulldogs' first game of the season vs. Kentucky and scored 13 points in a 107-65 win over Jacksonville State. Georgia (1-0) plays Grambling State at 7:30 p.m. today in Stegeman Colisuem.
