Players: Richt may "Crank Dat", too

ATHENS - There's a theory among some of the Georgia players that Richt is learning the dance moves for "Crank Dat," the song by Soulja Boy that many of the Bulldogs dance to on the sideline during games.

Defensive tackle Jeff Owens said he thinks Richt's wife Katharyn has been teaching him the steps.

"He's going to break it out," Owens said.

Freshman tailback Knowshon Moreno thinks there's a 50 percent chance his coach can do the dance but is not so sure he and his teammates will ever see it.

"It would be exciting," Moreno said. "I think we would all get jacked up."

The players may be waiting a while. Richt acknowledged that several members of his family are urging him to learn the dance, but he has made no progress in that regard, he said.

"I don't even know how to do the Electric Slide yet so I don't know if you're allowed to jump into the Soulja Boy dance or not," he said. "There may be some sort of progression. I'm not learning how to do it, but at least I know what it is, and I think I would recognize the song."
