Tech Week: Wednesday Practice Report

ATHENS - Sixth-ranked Georgia continued preparations for their upcoming game with Georgia Tech, holding a two-hour workout Wednesday afternoon.

Thanksgiving will mark the one-year anniversary when Georgia head coach Mark Richt handed over play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. The move came right before the annual tilt with Georgia Tech.

"It was 6 a.m., and I was waiting for him in the office by the stairwell," recalled Richt. "I said, don't worry, I won't tell anybody unless we win. He's doing a great job."

The Bulldogs went on to beat Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. They enter Saturday's game with the Yellow Jackets with a 9-2 record. Georgia has won six in a row over the Yellow Jackets, and Richt said every game is important especially against your rivals.

"We try to win each game we play, and I remember our first year, the Georgia Tech game was a big deal," said Richt. "They had won three in a row, and when we won that one, it made our season. It's a lot of relief when you break through. We had lost five of six to Florida until this year, and it was a relief to win that one."
