Fowler has handled the snapping on field goals and extra points for the last month.
"Fowler has a good snap," Richt said. "Henson was a little bit ahead (on the punt team) because he was blocking a little better and covering a little better."
Richt doesn't know who the backup snapper will be.
"Somebody told me (quarterback) Matthew Stafford could snap," he said. "That'd be fun."
SCHEDULE UPDATE: The Bulldogs broke from their tradition under Richt and practiced on Thursday. They also will practice next Thursday before beginning bowl workouts in earnest on Dec. 14.
In the previous six years of the Richt era, the Bulldogs have taken two full weeks off after the end of the regular season.
