Black bowl jerseys to be given to players

ATHENS – The now-famous black jerseys Georgia wore against Auburn will be history after the Sugar Bowl.

The Bulldogs will wear the jerseys against Hawaii and then they will be given to the players as bowl gifts. That doesn't mean there won't be anymore black jerseys in the future, though.

Georgia will order more this offseason and have them at the beginning of the season, head coach Mark Richt said.

"We might make it a tradition of once a season or maybe it'll be as needed," Richt said. "It won't be another 25 or 30 years (before they are worn again)."
