There's a New #1

The new National 100 has been revised and we have a new number one prospect in the land. National 100

Wide receiver Julio Jones (Foley, Alabama) takes over the top spot. Jones is followed by quarterback Terrelle Pryor (Jeanette, Pa.), running back Darrell Scott (Ventura, Calif.), linebacker Arthur Brown (Wichita, Ka.) and safety Will Hill (Jersey City, N.J.).

This has been the same top five prospects virtually all recruiting season long for except there has been some shuffling. This time Brown dropped from No. 1. This sensational linebacker prospect will announce his decision a little later today between USC, Florida, Miami, LSU and North Carolina

Pryor, Jones and Scott have not made their commitments yet while Hill is headed to the Gators. Jones take over the top spot in the land and could be the most gifted wide receiver prospect in some time.

Who were the prospects that made big moves amongst the top 100? There were several. Safety/running back Darius Barksdale (Batesville, Miss.) had a sensational senior season, leading South Panola High School to its fifth straight state title (75 game winning streak). In the process he rushed for over 2,900 yards and 35 touchdowns. Barksdale is now the nation's No. 2 rated safety and climbed 67 spots and is now the No. 19 rated prospect overall in the country.

Cornerback Brandon Harris (Miami, Fla.) also led Booker T. Washington High School to a state championship. He was just sitting outside the national 100 before. Now he is No. 39 and the No. 5 rated cornerback in the nation.

Another new member of the National Top 100 is Marcel Dareus (Birmingham, Ala.). Dareus is an athletic, nasty and dominant defensive tackle. Running back Jamie Harper (Jacksonville, Fla.) has been inching his way up the 100 for some time and he now finds himself inside the top 50 for the first time at No. 45.

Other prospects that made moves in the 100 for the first time are defensive end Nick Perry (Detroit, Mi.), wide receivers Aaron Boyd (Lexington, Ky.) and Desean Hales (Spring, Texas), running back Aundre Dean (Katy, Texas), linebacker Mike Yancich (Washington, Pa.), and safety Vaughn Telemaque (Long Beach, Fla.).

The National 300 is the top 300 prospects in the nation. These are all the prospects that are assigned five and four-stars in the prospect ranking system. Players 1-50 receive five stars while players ranked 51-300 receive four stars. If you are a prospect that doesn't make the National 300 then you will receive three or two stars.

The National 300 will be released in its entirety on Wednesday, but the Prospect Rankings have already been adjusted to reflect the pending changes.
