The Bulldogs are going to sign two quarterbacks next February, and one of those two has already been determined. So when Chris Campbell was asked to come down to take in Georgia's junior day he decided to do so.
"I am not sure how they found out about me," he said. "But they asked me to came up to Athens, so I came. Coach Bobo really liked what he saw on my film, and said he would like me to come down this summer and see me play."
Teammates with offensive lineman Austin Long, Campbell made the long drive from Memphis to see Georgia for himself.
"They may be looking closer to home than with me, but if they are interested I am, too," he admitted. "I thought it was a great experience for me."
Beyond Georgia, Campbell said he's getting a lot of attention from around the SEC.
"I've been invited to a game at Arkansas, but we've not really been contacted by Arkansas a lot at our high school," Campbell said. "Vanderbilt sends me a lot of stuff. Ole Miss, Tennessee here and there, and I hear from Arkansas some, too. Ole Miss would really like me to come to their junior day come up there soon."
So with an invitation to come back down to Athens this summer for a workout in his pocket, Campbell said this about a quarterback fitting with the right program.
"It's a tricky spot because certain schools are looking for certain things. I think if you are right if will fit it will work and it will be obvious," he said.
Where will it be obvious? That's hard to know right now.
