Corey Gaines profile

A Tallahassee native, Gaines said that while he isn't be pressured to look at Florida State harder than any other school, he could certainly see himself playing in Doak Campbell one day.

"I would love to go to FSU," Gaines said. "It just depends if they offer me. I mean, they've always been a childhood favorite. That would be a dream come true if I could play over there."

Currently his only offer is from Florida International, but he is drawing interest mostly from other Florida programs such as UCF, USF, Florida, and the aforementioned Florida State.

So far he has only visited Florida and Florida State, unofficially on game days, while also taking in Florida State's recent Junior Day festivities.

"It was pretty amazing," Gaines said of his time at FSU. "They showed the highlight tapes in 3d. They took us to the FSU – North Carolina (basketball) game which was pretty good. They showed us around all the facilities."

Gaines also said that he's very comfortable with FSU coaching situation with Jimbo Fisher being head coach in waiting.

"I think coach Fisher is a good coach. I mean look what he did at LSU. I believe he can bring a national title to Florida State," Gaines said.

Gaines said that he doesn't have any visits planned for the near future, but certainly plans to get to some other campuses after working out his schedule.
