"I wasn't expecting either of the offers. I had no idea Michigan was going to offer, but I met a guy in Atlanta that called the Michigan coaches about me and things kind of went from there. I wasn't expecting an offer from them and I've never been farther north than Maryland."
"The Tennessee offer was a big surprise and one of the assistants at my school had the offer in his hand the other day. He was excited for me. I am interested in Tennessee and it's only eight hours away. I would like to go visit."
"I had a ride to the game but the weather was so bad I decided not to go. I called the coaches to let them know I wasn't coming. I do plan on going back to UGA as soon as possible. I'm trying to work it out with my boss at work so I can get back up to Athens."
Gilliard does have a favorite school and Dawg fans will be happy to hear it.
"Georgia is my favorite of all the schools right now, but I will have to wait and see what happens with my other visits."
When asked about why Georgia is his favorite he said, "Coach Richt took his time to come and see me, and you always know with Georgia you can't go wrong."
Gilliard said he also expects he may see an offer from Notre Dame in his future, and did set a timetable for making a commitment.
"I want to commit before the season begins so that I can just concentrate on my senior season and helping my team."
