Horton getting focused on camps

Julian Horton will be one of several 2010 kids from the state of Georgia taking part in the summer camp circuit.

"I wanted to attend several camps but with basketball I'm not sure how many I'm going to be able to go this summer. I know I'm going to Alabama because they called my coach the other day. I will also be attending the Mark Richt camp. I may go to Clemson but I'm not sure at this point because of basketball."

Horton hopes to turn some heads at the summer camps which hopefully will lead to some big-time offers.

"I'm hoping to catch the coach's attention at the camps I go to. I'm still getting letters from the usual schools and now I'm starting to hear from NC State, Florida State, and UCLA. UCLA sent me a handwritten letter the other day which was neat."

The GAC spring game was only a couple of weeks ago and the format was not very conducive to big stats.

"The game was only like 30 minutes with a running clock so I was only had two receptions, but I didn't let it get me down."

Horton and his GAC teammates are hard at work in the weight room as school is now out and the summer begins.

"We are lifting every morning around 11 and sometimes we have early morning sessions. I've been working hard on my speed."

Dawg Post will be watching Julian close and will have an update on his performance at the Mark Richt camp in a couple of weeks.
