"We start our summer weights and conditioning on Monday and the quest to get bigger, stronger, and faster starts for all of us. We are hoping for that state championship and trying to focus as a team towards our goals."
Don't think that just because the Valdosta team isn't starting workouts until Monday that Gilliard has been resting.
"As a matter of fact I just got done working out. Greg Reed and I work out together all the time. I run the stadium steps everyday so I've never stopped working out."
The recruiting process is supposed to be over for Gilliard but some teams refuse to give up.
"I'm still hearing from Michigan a lot. They definitely have not given up, but I'm firm to Georgia. The whole recruiting experience was exciting but it has been a relief for me to get my mind back on football."
Gilliard wants all Georgia fans to know that he will not be a stranger to Athens over the next year. "I will be at the Mark Richt camp next week and I plan to be in Athens every Saturday in the fall."
Dawg Post will be at the Mark Richt camp next week to cover Gilliard and the other 2009 and 2010 recruits in attendance.
