A two-way star at Jefferson County, A.J. Harmon was rated the 10th-best offensive tackle in the country for the 2008 class. The 6-5 standout excels at defensive tackle, too.
Recruitment: Despite an early commitment and statement saying that he was "100 percent Clemson Tiger," Harmon eventually switched to nearby Georgia late in the recruiting process. The four-star prospect turned down offers from such programs as Auburn, Florida and Florida State.
At Georgia: Where Harmon begins his collegiate career is entirely up to him. Harmon has maintained that he prefers the defensive side of the ball and will have that chance if he meets some guidelines. "For him to have a chance to play and compete (on the defensive line) he needs to come in at a certain weight and things like that, but our intention is for him to be a defensive lineman," recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach Rodney Garner told DawgPost.com in a February interview. "If he does what he's supposed to do, that's where he's going to be."
