2008 Media Days: Legge's Look at Miss. State

BIRMINGHAM – Here's a look at the day Mississippi State Head Coach Sylvester Croom and the Bulldogs had at the SEC's annual Media Day event. Mississippi State finished third in the SEC West won the Liberty Bowl.

"This is the first time going into the season where we think that we can compete," Sylvester Croom on his team's chances this fall.

"It just got to the point where he didn't want to go under the knife again," Croom on former quarterback Mike Hening, who left after too many injuries over his time at State.

"I really think, and this is a personal opinion, until head coaches give their minority assistants their coordinator positions it is not going to happen," Croom on

"Well winning is always good," Croom on winning the Liberty Bowl – State's first trip to a bowl game since 2000. "I got goose bumps going into the stadium with the wall-to-wall traffic and the maroon everywhere."
