Horton was at the first Mark Richt camp of the year and even though he though he played well he wasn't completely satisfied.
"For some reason I was very sore from training, and I didn't have my normal speed that I usually have. I still had a solid performance. I think if I could have been full speed that I could have come away with an offer, but that wasn't the case."
Horton has been busy with his GAC teammates the last few weeks. "We have played in several 7-on-7 competitions and always seem to do well. Other than that we have been lifting and training together trying to get faster and stronger as a team."
He hasn't had a chance to see many schools this summer and remains focused on his upcoming season.
"I was supposed to go see Vandy this summer but that just never happened. I was able to go to Alabama. It wasn't for a camp but I got to see what they had to offer. Other than that the only other trip I took was to Athens for the Georgia camp."
As July comes to a close Horton and his teammates begin to settle in for the upcoming season.
"We go to camp in the mountains August 3-7 and then we will return to school for our first day in full pads. We open up with Hart County on the road on August 29. Our team goals are to be united and my personal goal is to win the state title."
